Small V0.04 Delay, New Character Revealed!

Hey guys!

I'll get the bad news out of the way up front.  We need a few more days to finish up V0.04, so I'm projecting that around May 10 it will be ready.  I'll be sure to update you on our progress though, as it may be before or slightly after that.  We have to stick to Patreon's procedure of pledges being charged at the beginning of the month, so that means that pledges still have to be in by around April 29 (to be safe) when the paid post goes live.  Pledges will still be charged around May 1.

Progress is actually going great, it's just that there are more remaining art assets required than I can accomplish in the remaining days before May 1 (even working 18 hour days).  I'm down to having to finish a couple of sets of sprite animations, a few more maps and random graphics, and from then on out it's basically balancing / filling the maps with items and loot / adding dialog (the framework for the events is already laid out, and the story artwork scenes are already in and "animated") / and finally testing.  AltairPL is doing great on his end, as he's knocked out the coding for the (really big) puzzle area and has tackled pretty much every bug that he can until the map overhaul begins.

All of that being said, I figured showing off a new major character would soften the blow a bit.  Her name is Ven, and I just finished up creating the final material presets and clothing fits for her 3D model earlier today.  She's been through a few various designs over the past few months, so I'm glad to finally have her ready for V0.04.  Just to be clear, Ven isn't a playable character, so you'll have to wait and see how she fits into the story!

Sorry again for the news about the delay on such short notice, but I wanted to have a ballpark date somewhat in focus before I put it out there.  Expect more news on the release when the paid post goes live at the end of the month!

  2. Ven looks amazing, i'm sad she is not going to be a playable character, will you ever be adding more than 2 main characters, or is 2 what you see in your vision for MatM.

  3. So them main character has robot limbs, will there ever be a situation where she's rendered helpless by having them removed or is it just an aesthetic choice?

  7. I just Downloaded the demo and played it. And well... First, let me say that I think it is wrong to use Donation systems like patreon to acquire funds for something that isn't free. I believe donation must be used to better the society as a whole and not specific individuals that will use it for profit. But it is all legal, and I believe that who pledged for your game payed attention and know it isn't free.

    Second, lets talk about the game. Impressive I must say, very few RPGs using sprites have animations and pseudo 3D so well made, if there is, I never heard about them. It really looks what Donkey Kong Country was it was launched and you did with maestry so few managed.

    The struggle also was something I like very much. I just think it should stop the game while you are doing the "left and right", but if you put the ATB to wait it isn't an issue. I don't know if you intend to make more sprites to make an the H-content true animations (as the enemy idles and attacks), but even if you don't, this is already much better than most 2D h-games out there. So congratulations.

    And Third, lets talk about the story, The demo shows nothing about it, not even an introduction of the world. I hope you don't just work on the visual content of the game and forget about the story. I know it isn't easy to write something epic, but It would be awsome if you managed.

      Patrons that pledge a total of $20 or more over the course of the campaign will receive the uncensored retail version for free. From the Patreon campaign description text:

      "If you pledge a total of $20 at any time over the course of the project you will receive an uncensored completed copy of the game at the end of the project!"

      This project simply would not happen without Patreon funds, so we're very appreciative of the opportunity to make it happen.

      Regarding story, most of it was written at the end of last year. It's extensive, but you're right that the public demo doesn't showcase it. Future Patreon releases (including the one being released in a couple of days) certainly will more so, though like any large scale RPG it divulges its secrets slowly.

    2. Another thing I should have said, but I only noticed after my post.

      First: I didn't noticed at my first playthrought but this game can be extremely hard. And I am not talking about mess with enemy stats, I am talking about the core of the game. You see? H-attacks are very entertaining but extremelly dangerous as well. If two enemies keep both of characters tied in H-attacks, a third one can keep hitting you, and since you stay on the ground for a few seconds, they can spawn the h-attacks until you die. Unless you release yourself what can be very hard with high lust (or impossible with ATB wait). You noticed it because the boss don't have a finisher, if it had, it could keep spwaning the tentacles until kill you since the grip would fill back after the finisher. Almost forgot, a deathblow in an H-attack is cheat (leaches breast sucking), a high amount of damage ok, Deathblow, not.

      Also your game don't rewards survive (as you said on patreon), it rewards recklessness. Bugs for example only use h-atacks when your clothes are broken. So to avoid all the problem of the H-attacks you must be careful canceling dengeours attacks. But this is an H-game, we want to see it, so we will wait until only one enemy remain and wait for it to use. And that is the point I want to make, you need to WAIT.

      To avoid that I would recomend add a skill (Provoke, or Seduce if you preffer) to make an enemy to use its h-attack if available, as well as items to reduce lust (but not fix the clothes).

      Second: First level is very hard, navigate in the dark without a map, you get lost easy. And that yellow square with no letter isn't a very bright hint, as the one in the first A door. Leave this kind of thing to later parts of the game.

      Third: Some doubts. That scene at the boss is a bad ending. But the scene is like if I won. So I presume someone saves Neon before she dies, or that is fan service and will not be part of the story. I also would like to confirm, the leaches only have 3 h_attacks, One on Neon and two on Malice? And Neon Upper clothes don't break?

      Other ideas could be: Have some enemies which the finisher reduce your lust and increase its health; Enemies in later parts of the game passing to have finishers that leave you out of combat for more time and itens to wake you up (or makes you immune to the first knock down); A galery screen for you to unlocking the CGs of the h-scenes, and see if you missed some of them, like a completition system.

    3. Guy, you do realize this game is still in the Alpha phase, right? You're criticizing stuff that don't exist YET, but is promised to exist int he future. On top of that, half of your claims and assumptions would have been easily answered if you got off your lazy ass just read the freakin' posts on Patreon and here.

    Hopefully there aren't any misconceptions, but I think I incorrectly assumed people had been reading previous posts (like this one: http://eromancer.blogspot.com/2016/03/v004-announcement-and-progress-update.html). Sorry for the confusion!

    V0.04 is not a public release, and is only available to Patreon backers. Since the pledge deadline was April 29 I failed to make recent posts here. Update posts have been made on the Patreon feed, so I definitely recommend pledging at the $1 tier to get access to the feed if you're really interested in getting all the news!

    Very importantly, I want to let you know that if you missed the pledge deadline you can still get in on the release. Please email me at eromancergames@gmail.com and let me know that you're interested and I'll send you information on how to get a pledge to me.

    2. Sorry for the delay! Patreon only collects pledges on the beginning of months that a release is made (it's goofy, and I hope they add a feature that allows what you're asking).     1. Sorry for the ultra late response, but this was caused by a bug in the initial version we sent out. We pulled the links as soon as we found out, but some people still got it. Hopefully you saw that I sent a second download link a few hours after the first with a fixed version, and if not I really apologize!

  13. after kill the flower boss,I seem fell into an endless loop,A5,A10,A15door,not enough fuse to continue, so back,teleport to the start and meet the rogue robot again,pick up 15fuse,and then again.What should I do, is this a bug?

    Some of the game functionality was broken with last minute fix to other bug... how's that for irony... unfortunately it slipped under our radar and made its way to the release version. It is already fixed and you should receive link to the updated version from Eromancer shortly.

  16. I think I know why people are getteing stuck in the door puzzle. It happened with me and it shames me because I am usually quite good on puzzle games. It is an impression that the game make. For much time you are used to use one or more terminals to open aach door. But that is not a rule. One terminal can open more than one door. So if you put a 10 amp in the first terminal, the first and second doors will open, allowing you to use the second and third terminal to put more amps to open the third door. Just an impression that locks your way of thinking. I had no idea it could be possible, but since I wasn't the only one to pass for that (according to the forum at least) I think it wasn't just my silliness. (Maybe I was too ditracted, this kind of puzzle wouldn't surprize me in Silent Hill, since you are expecting nothing to make sense)

    By the way, Ven looks amazing. Great animation, a back flip and a spin for just a simple attack is exagerated really, but who cares? It was nice, that is what matter right.
